Part 2 HAS BEGUN! Here's the teaser for those of you who haven't seen it yet, or would like to be reminded of what's to come.

Part 2: Destruction

Teaser

Kol:

captured by the vicious Mani'k, can Kol escape from the Vasari before he himself is turned into one of the Vasari? And even if he can manage to escape, the Guild of Marksmen is out there, looking for him...

Archie:

Sent back to his home planet to solve a streak of murders committed by a close friend, will he join the murderer? Or will he pay the ultimate sacrifice?

Zeke:

Forever battling for control of his body, Zeke's psionic powers are growing stronger, and Alfr'eda is growing frightened. Can a Silent One rejoin the Unity? What would that mean for her? In the meantime, there are Sinners to purge. But her next target may be the most difficult and dangerous yet....The Prime Chancellor himself.

Jessica:

After the great Admiral Kol mysteriously disappears, Jessica steps up to pick up the empty seat of power. But others want the coveted Admiral position as well, and they will stop at nothing to get it. Does the "female Kol" have what it takes to reach Admiralty without the powers of a Marksman? Or will she just be a listing in the number of dead as the contestants fight to the death--for some of them--literally?

Veronica:

Her power taken away "indefinitely" by Haiti, she is forced to hide herself as one of the Vasari's Mani'k. Will her loyalty to the Unity remain strong enough to do what she must with the human prisoner? Or will she help Kol escape to rebel against Haiti in the only pitiful, desperate way she can? And if she aides the terran, will Kol return the sympathy or will he himself capture her?

Agent Karridan:

An Advent spy sent to the Trader worlds to discreetly scout out psionically-active humans that could be spared the destruction of the Reemergence, he hears rumors of a mysterious and deadly killer, and finds himself strangely intrigued. Sneaking into a recent crime scene, Karridan notices a faint psionic residue, and immediately stashes himself in Archie Kol's team as they hunt the murderer. The resulting explosion when he comes into contact with Zeke and Alfr'eda? A thousand suns undergoing supernova will not compare.

Professor Newman:

Working himself near to exhaustion, trying furiously to complete his project before command shuts him down, Newman is running out of time. For himself and for the TEC. Will he succeed? Welcome to the Novalith Project.

Turning, he surveyed the other Vasari. None of them moved except for the Mani'k who's postmorteyim Kilodim had taken. He retrieved his spear and joined the ranks of Mani'k quickly. None of them moved toward Kilodim, however.

if the search parties were of 5, and yorashknir died, and and the two people who attacked kilodim died, and there's kilodim, that leaves... one man - excuse me, vasar i think is proper - standing around. you could say the search parties were of six, or say yorashknir took extra men with him, or something like that.

this was good, but i feel like you are getting sidetracked. maybe i'm just making this up, but i feel like you are getting away from what you orignially intended, at least from your preview.

Sinners - the longest-running SOASE fanfic on the web!

now you really have to change it, since witchfire wrote another part of saints of a solar empire for us loyal fans

edit: i forgot to mention, you forgot to tell us whose ship it was. surely the mani'k would be able to tell from the corridors, if not from the outside

I've edited that. The other search parties come in during Kilodim's fight.

Nope, I'm not. That preview was for the entire part 2 section. This is only the 2nd chapter! Part 1 had 9 chapters, and part 2 might haver even more. Those things will happen, don't worry. Actually, thinking about it, I'm doing Veronica's part right now. She's being brought into the Vasari. That's what is says in the preview.

Nope, I said several times that the ship was too destroyed for them to make out anything significant that would tell them what kind of ship it was. And what corridors? Most of the ship was a junk pile.

Hmmm... I love it when stories keep me guessing as to what comes next!

Keep up the good work, please!

i can't imagine a ship would ever be that damaged that you couldnt tell what the ship was made of. surely the same exact materials arent used by both the tec and the vasari

and what materials are they? You can't tell what something is when its melted and twisted. Wait, let me correct mysely. You could if you were a scientist or you were a shipbuilder, but the Mani'k aren't into that kind of thing. How would they know what the burnt and twisted hull would normally be made of? Their fighters, not scientists.

Ha, duly noted.

but i like to think that they are not so stupid as to completely miss the difference between durasteel or plasteel or whatever the tec calls their material, and the alien stuff the vasari used

It has to be compared to the TEC? Remember, the last time this wormhole was open, an unknown enemy destroyed Esquian's entire fleet. Sound like something similar in Vasari history? The Vasari have no idea whether the other side of the wormhole leads to the TEC, some other enemy, or the Darkness itself.

who said they were on the other side of the wormhole?

the wreck appeared through the wormhole. so whatevr the ship is, it came from the wormhole that Esquian's fleet was destroyed in.

Maybe it's not an issue of wether they know or do not know to who the ship belongs to or are able to distinguish or not the materials. It's just that they don't care, as C.I. said, they're fighters not scientists and I can relate to that. So I'm going to agree with him on this one.

loved the new chapters, awesome...

Just one thing I didn't like, and that was when you said the ship was so destroyed it was unrecognizable.  That doesn't make sense, as destroyed means gone, no more, something like that. Now, if it was damaged beyond recognition, I could agree with that. Just a small descriptive error. Great so far. Wonder when your going back to the Advent point of view.
