Certainly. Now, as you know, a Trader by the name of Harrison Longsford arrived at our home world nearly a thousand years ago. There, he encountered us and fled on his ship back to the Trader worlds. I followed him. At the Trader tribunal I appeared again inside Harrison, throttling him with the power called Spirituality, the force behind the creation of the universe, and the base from which I created PsiTech. Now Spirituality has developed a religious significance, but it is a power of nature, infused within the Spirits that govern the universe, and it is with this that I strangled Harrison. Then I emerged from his body in a great black cloud, to disguise myself from the Traders that had no business seeing my true form, and placed upon each one a sort of marker. Now all of their descendents are marked by me, and every Advent can feel them like little points of light in darkness, and the Reemergence will not end until all of those lights are distinguished. As the Advent were banished from their home world I withdrew from the Universe for a time, to study and reflect upon my and the Advent's choices. I am not hasty. how did you follow him? how did you move through the galaxy. surely you don't need a ship to take you across the universe?

[well i want to flesh out the High One's background. i don't want to just belch it out in another mini-story. And when I said the High One's background, what I was really meaning was the connection between the High One and the Spirits. Which i hope you saw by now. Through these questions you should get to know who and what the High One is and how he came to be here, but you won't ever have it explained, until far later in Sinners. I'm not going to just say what it is, but I want to develop it a little more. That's what i'm trying to say.]

Where I come from you can not know of, for you can never go there. Your mind could not comprehend it, and your body would disintegrate. Know only that it is called Outside. My power is of creation, and part of the process of creation is the removal of what is old in replacement for what is new. That is not destruction, it is creation. A fine line, yet a line there is.

TEC? I assume from one branch of the inhabitants of Earth. The space-faring folk, they were called the Traders. Perhaps that is their background, although they must have forgotten their roots if they still go by that name. By aliens, you mean Vasari?

This I know for certain. They were a separate group of Traders, then not meaning anything close to what it does now, and after the great wars between the people of Earth and the Traders, the Advent sect of Traders (called the Illumis) fled the solar system and established their new home world. They were not yet Advent, however, just normal human settlers. Then I came to them, and I experimented on them. I tried to mix Spirituality into them, but their bodies could not take it and melted. I created the Pit of Everlasting Fire to do away with my failed creations. The Advent were not my first, second, or even third attempt at this. The word "Advent" means "thirteenth" in the old tongue. After twelve failed attempts at creating life, I successfully implanted a distorted version of Spirituality into the humans, naming them Advent, as that they were. That is where the Advent come from, and that is how they were made.
